The Battery Industry in 2030
A report we have been working on covering all the tech in the battery industry.
The Battery Industry in 2030 🔋
Last year, someone asked us for a report on as much tech and innovation as we could in the battery industry. We instead wrote it up to share with as many people as possible, accessible for £25.
This 66-page report is written by subject matter experts specifically for people interested in advanced batteries. It is a well-informed summary of thousands of pages of technical publications and interviews, conversations, and presentations with battery industry experts over the last three years synthesized into a single concise and accessible document covering key topics in the rechargeable battery industry.
Modern and next-generation sources of battery innovation are included—lithium-ion, lithium metal, silicon, solid-state, sulfur, sodium-ion, zinc-ion, safety, supply chain, manufacturing, battery management and artificial intelligence, electric vehicles, grid storage, recycling, and beyond. Fading technologies without investment potential such as lead-acid and nickel-metal-hydride are excluded. We share some papers when we think there are particularly good reviews.
In each topic, we list out a few companies operating in the space, with a primary focus on innovative startups. We actively track 250+ companies in the battery space and update our database regularly. Each topic is summarized into approximately 1-2 pages to capture the main points in a concise, high-level format. The report highlights relevant companies in each section and research advances published in the last ~24 months.
