Battery Component Price Report: Q1 2026

HODL your batteries, dump your barrels.

Q1 2026 was the quarter lithium woke up. Li2CO3 and LiOH rallied close to 38%, fueled by Jiangxi mining crackdowns and a rush to buy ahead of China's April export rebate cut. That surge pulled cathode materials up 20–35% and nudged cell prices higher for the first time since they bottomed in 2025, though overcapacity kept both LFP and NMC well below $100/kWh. Meanwhile, LiPF6 went the other direction entirely, correcting 35% from its late-2025 spike and dragging electrolyte costs down with it. Anode and inactive materials stayed flat throughout.1

We’re back this quarter with our new-&-improved BCPR (with interactive charts) which first launched with our 2025 annual summary - check it out here.
